This week at New Hope Central Oahu, Pastor Mark closes our series, Sabbath: Sacred Rest for a Hurried World, with Week 6: Living from the Seventh Day.
Sabbath is so much more than a weekly reset — it is a way of life. From the beginning, Sabbath was meant to shape not only one day, but every other day. Learning to stop, rest, delight, and worship shifts our souls, homes, families, and communities. We are no longer driven by hurry, pressure, or performance, but by presence, trust, and love.
In this message, Pastor Mark helps us think practically about how to live from rest. Sabbath can easily become lost and forgotten, so we are invited to remember it and keep it holy. True rest also requires preparation — it will not simply happen by accident. And when we begin to practice Sabbath, we should expect resistance, because Sabbath pushes against the hurried rhythms and values of the world around us.
This final week is an invitation to begin intentionally, not perfectly. Whether that means a full day or a protected pocket of time, God invites us to set apart holy space with Him and become people who carry His rest into every other day of the week.
