2/15/25 5pm “Defining The Wilderness”

In Exodus 15 the narrative takes such a sharp turn you could get whiplash. In verse 19 we see this triumphant victory of God over the chariots of Pharaoh. God has delivered His people and the people rejoiced with singing and dancing. But just a few verses later we find the people wandering in a desert and without water. The same people who were singing and dancing are now grumbling and complaining.

Pastor Mark

What happened? How could the story take such a drastic turn? One moment Jesus is rising out of the waters of baptism, the clouds are parting, and God is saying, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” In the very next verses He’s being led into the wilderness.

Coincidence? Or is God showing us a pattern that so few understand. What is the wilderness? Why do we go through wilderness seasons? In this opening message we will define the wilderness and begin to understand its significance.
