Ultimately God made us to bond with Him. Our hormones were meant to fire when we worship, when we love, when care for others. We were supposed to be “addicted” to God.

Herod was not a true king. He only had power because he served the Romans. Naturally, news of the King of the Jews was alarming. Though he feigned worship he secretly just wanted to know how to remain in power. Celebrating Jesus as the coming King means we have to vacate the throne of our lives.
